Treasure Seekers (for children in reception to year 6)

The name comes from the passage Proverbs 2 v 4 & 5, given to us during a prayer time when reviewing the children's work in the church.

'And if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God'

Our aim is to move away from the idea of children's work being a school as many children do not enjoy school and those that do may not want to spend their leisure time there.  It is to be a place where they can seek and meet with God and to receive ago appropriate teaching.

Our plans for the future:-

We wish to integrate our children more fully into all aspects of church life.  We plan to work with the worship leaders to make our sung worship time more child friendly and have other means for them to engage in worship.  We believe that children are able to make a significant contribution to worship and plan to create an environment where they can grow on their own spiritual journey and to bring them to a place where they can exercise the gifts of the spirit within a church service.
